VEUVE CLICQUOT Carte Jaune is a champagne that perfectly represents the distinctive style of the Veuve Clicquot house. The predominance of Pinot Noir provides the characteristic structure of the wines of this Reims-based house, while a subtle touch of Pinot Meunier softens the overall effect. The Chardonnay, meanwhile, brings the elegance and finesse necessary for the perfect balance of this cuvée, made from 50 to 60 different crus. The composition of this brut champagne includes 50 to 55% Pinot Noir, 15 to 20% Pinot Meunier, and 28 to 33% Chardonnay. The blend includes a significant proportion of reserve wines from several harvests (on average 5 to 6), representing 25 to 35% of the cuvée. Sometimes, this proportion can reach as high as 40%, to ensure the continuity of the Veuve Clicquot style. These reserve wines, some up to nine years old, are individually aged according to their origin and vintage. Veuve Clicquot Carte Jaune is distinguished by its bright golden yellow color and fine, abundant mousse. On the nose, this Brut reveals a powerful aroma, initially fruity with notes of white and dried fruits, then evolving towards vanilla and brioche aromas. On the palate, the attack is lively and dynamic, then giving way to a fruity harmony. The champagne displays a beautiful structure, classifying it among the Bruts that are both structured and vinous. The aromatic persistence of Veuve Clicquot Carte Jaune is remarkable, marked by fruity and spicy notes. This Champagne offers a perfect balance between finesse and power, embodying the elegance and richness of the Veuve Clicquot style. Ideal as an aperitif, this champagne is served at 10°C.

THE BRAND

Veuve Clicquot currently owns one of the largest and most prestigious vineyards in Champagne, spread across the region's finest vintages. With a total area of 390 hectares, the vines flourish in 12 of the 17 Grands Crus and 20 of the 44 Premiers Crus listed in Champagne. This glorious winemaking heritage has been patiently built over the centuries, beginning with the founder and enriched by successive generations of Veuve Clicquot management. It bears the distinct imprint of Madame Clicquot, who has contributed significantly to its development. Each plot of their vineyard is meticulously studied to determine the optimal grape variety mix, taking into account the characteristics of the soil, climate, and exposure. Thus, the Veuve Clicquot vineyard is composed of 47% Chardonnay, 36% Pinot Noir, and 17% Meunier. Located mainly on hillsides, their vines benefit from a thin soil and optimal sunshine, guaranteeing the optimal conditions to produce grapes of exceptional quality.
