JM 8 Years Old Vintage 2016 Single Cask is an exceptional agricultural rum from a single cask, it was selected for the Whisky Festival 2024 collection. It delivers woody, toasted notes with sweet spices with a delicate note of flambéed fruits. The finish is persistent on toasted and slightly fruity notes. It was aged in 2016 and bottled in 2024. Limited edition. Located in the commune of Macouba, in the north of Martinique on the Atlantic coast, Habitation Bellevue was acquired in 1790 by Antoine Leroux-Préville. Renamed Fonds-Préville, this sugar estate became the property of Jean-Marie Martin in 1845, who converted it into a distillery, thus marking the birth of the JM brand. In 1912, the Crassous de Médeuil family took possession of it, then in 2002, the Bernard Hayot group bought the distillery and completely renovated it in 2013. This version reveals a richly nuanced aromatic and taste palette, elegantly oscillating between generous fruity, subtle woody, and delicate vegetal notes.

THE BRAND
The JM rum distillery is located in Martinique , on the slopes of Mount Pelée, Habitation Bellevue benefits from a humid tropical climate and particularly fertile volcanic soils, ideal for growing exceptional sugar cane. Cultivated and selected by the distillery, the sugar canes are crushed in mills less than an hour after cutting; this specificity guarantees the production of a particularly fresh and aromatic cane juice. Distillation is carried out in two traditional copper columns, Creole type. The rum is only distilled at 72% in order to preserve all the aromatic richness of the sugar cane and aged in carefully selected barrels that are previously burned before use. JM Old Rums are very often awarded prizes at international competitions.
