Mana'o Ambré is an agricole-style rum made from pure sugarcane juice from ancestral varieties grown on the plateaus of the Tahiti peninsula and the island of Tahaa. This elegant rum was aged for one year in Armagnac barrels and Cognac foudres. It offers aromas of cane juice, floral and fruity notes with vanilla accents. It is a very good tasting rum with a beautiful finish.
TASTING NOTE
Nose: The aromas of fresh cane have subtly evolved towards honeyed notes, mixed with a light woody note. After aeration, the nose opens generously with aromas of jammy (citrus) fruit.
Palate: Beautifully rounded, the palate retains liveliness and bitterness, while exuding floral and fruity aromas with vanilla accents.
Finish: The long finish is seductive, between freshness and woodiness.
THE BRAND
In 2010, Fabrice Baffou, Sébastien Thépenier, and Olivier Duret decided to revive sugarcane production and a high-quality agricultural rum in Polynesia. After several years of research, they selected five ancestral and indigenous varieties and began growing them organically in the most suitable lands, in Tahaa, Rangiroa, and on the Tahiti peninsula. The cane juice is extracted, without adding water, a few minutes after harvesting, near the field. It is then fermented for a few days before being sent to Tahiti where it is distilled. The first rum was marketed in 2015. Mana'o Tahiti tasting rums are the fruit of these years of artisanal work combining respect for tradition and modernity.
