Arran Sherry Cask "The Bodega" is an intense 55.8% single malt , aged entirely in first-fill sherry casks . It embodies the fruity richness and controlled power that the Arran distillery has mastered to perfection. The nose reveals generous aromas of chocolate raisins , enhanced by fresh mandarins and a hint of spice . On the palate, it is an explosion of ripe figs and sweet cherries that balance harmoniously. The finish is long, powerful , marked by notes of pink pepper, hazelnuts and toasted oak .
Founded in 1995 , the Arran distillery is the last remaining distillery on the Isle of Arran , once home to over 50 distilleries. It is renowned for its bold refinements , the use of exclusive barley varieties and its distillation in tall chiseled copper stills . The aging takes place in selected oak casks that have previously contained sherry, bourbon or other noble liqueurs . Each year, approximately 2% of the whisky evaporates , offering its share to the angels. Arran malts are distinguished by their grassy freshness, their malty richness and their fruity aromas . About Arran Distillery
Founded in 1995 on the Isle of Arran , Lochranza Distillery is one of the few independent Scottish island distilleries.
