The Essentiel collection from Piper-Heidsieck consists of complex champagnes, designed to satisfy the demands of fine dining and the most discerning champagne connoisseurs. This cuvée embodies the very essence of the House's style, offering perfectly mastered balance, supported by great freshness and beautiful structure. This blanc de blancs champagne comes from the Côte des Blancs, Montagne de Reims, and Sézannais regions, with at least 35% reserve wines. Vinified and aged in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, this cuvée benefits from malolactic fermentation, giving the champagne roundness and suppleness. The bottles are aged on lees for three years. To enhance its personality, this champagne is dosed Extra-Brut (4 g/l). Precise, fresh, and mineral, the Essentiel Blanc de Blancs champagne reveals an aromatic bouquet with fresh notes of yuzu and lime. These notes are then enhanced by touches of acacia, almonds, and toasted bread, ending with a mineral finish. On the palate, the texture is distinguished by its finesse and freshness, with a lingering finish. With its exceptional aromatic purity and magnificent minerality, this champagne is perfect as an aperitif and to accompany various dishes. The mineral side of this cuvée harmonizes perfectly with the iodized flavor of oysters, but also with salmon gravlax accompanied by sweet potato, ponzu, and creamy fromage blanc with pickles, a langoustine tartare, a tomato carpaccio with a citrus vinaigrette, or even a lime and yuzu lemon sorbet. THE BRAND
Piper Heidsieck is a champagne house founded by Florens-Louis Heidsieck on July 16, 1785, in Reims. After the death of founder Florens-Louis Heidsieck in 1828, the company was taken over by his nephew Christian Heidsieck and his cousin Henri Guilaume Piper. They joined forces to form Piper-Heidsieck after Henri Piper married Christian Heidsieck's widow in 1838. In 2019, Piper Heidsieck was the champagne served at the Academy Awards. "We have a five-year partnership with the Academy Awards and are particularly pleased to be pouring Piper-Heidsieck Brut for the 91st ceremony," said Benoit Collard, CEO of Piper-Heidsieck. The House's signature cuvée is the non-vintage Cuvée Brut, round and vibrant, which recalls the rich variety of its blend of 100 crus from across the Champagne vineyards.
