During the reign of King Louis-Philippe I of France, two visionary brothers, Louis and Charles Isautier , left the mainland in 1832 to settle on the island of Réunion. In 1845, they founded the Isautier distillery , now considered the oldest family-run rum distillery on the island still in operation. Their passion for sugar cane and their entrepreneurial spirit laid the foundations of a unique artisanal tradition in the Indian Ocean. For more than 175 years, six generations have succeeded one another in promoting Réunion rum throughout the world. Based in Saint-Pierre, the Isautier house perpetuates production techniques that combine innovation and respect for tradition. It offers both agricultural rums and traditional molasses rums , as well as original liqueurs such as the Arhumatik range. It is thanks to this controlled diversity and a constant demand for quality that Isautier is today recognized as one of the benchmarks for Reunion Island rum.
