Champagne Krug: timeless excellence and the art of blending
Founded in 1843 by Joseph Krug, Champagne Krug is built on a singular ambition: to produce the finest Champagne possible every year, regardless of the vagaries of the climate. This bold vision is underpinned by respect for the individuality of each plot, extreme attention to base wines, and a library of reserve wines that balance and enrich blends with unparalleled depth. Krug has transcended the notion of vintage, making each cuvée an expression of consistent excellence. The art of blending is elevated to the status of a signature: hundreds of wines from different years, grape varieties, and terroirs are meticulously combined to create an identifiable style that is complex, rich, and remarkably long. Six generations have perpetuated this legacy while adapting the house to modern times. Today, Krug is part of the LVMH group and is supported by a contemporary artistic direction: Julie Cavil, cellar master since 2020, continues the quest for finesse initiated by Joseph Krug, under the governance of Olivier Krug and the presidency of Manuel Reman. The Krug vineyard, located around Reims, covers approximately 21 hectares and rests on a mosaic of terroirs—Campanian chalk, hard limestone, chalk gravel, Sparnacian clays, and Lutetian marl. This diversity, combined with sustainable viticulture, provides the raw material for an exceptional aromatic palette, which the house magnifies through its uncompromising blends. Champagne Krug embodies discreet and enduring luxury: each bottle is an experience, where complexity, balance, and depth are revealed with each sip. Choosing Krug means choosing the consistency of a rare style and the celebration of an art of living that transcends time.
