Kornog: the characterful peaty whisky from Brittany
Kornog , which means "west wind" in Breton, is a French peated whisky produced since 2009 at the Celtic Whisky Distillerie . Founded in 1999 by the Donnay family, this artisanal distillery is located in Pleubian, facing the sea, in the Côtes-d'Armor region of Brittany. Thanks to manual production and complete control of each stage, Kornog has established itself as one of the most recognized French peated whiskies. Its style is marked by peat, but also by a beautiful elegance and maritime notes that reflect its unique terroir. In 2020, the distillery joined the fold of Maison Villevert , a French group based in Cognac. This acquisition was made in a spirit of continuity: preserving the artisanal and Breton DNA of the distillery while supporting its international development. Kornog is an essential reference for lovers of peated whisky. It embodies the revival of high-end French whisky, combining authenticity, technical mastery and Atlantic influence.
