The 2015 Vintage from Maison Veuve Clicquot is a brut vintage champagne distinguished by its complexity. This cuvée has an aging potential of over 15 years. The year 2015 was characterized by a continental climate, with a mild and wet winter followed by a hot and dry summer. This combination favored the ripening of the grapes, resulting in an exceptional harvest that was juicy, ripe, and concentrated, making this vintage a spectacle in itself. This 2015 Vintage marks the 67th vintage declared by Maison Clicquot since its creation in 1810. Staying true to the Maison's style, it highlights Pinot Noir (50%), enhanced by a subtle touch of wines aged in oak barrels (10%) and extended aging on lees. A composition that gives this champagne its characteristic aromatic richness. This vintage champagne boasts a bright yellow color and a bouquet that reveals a blend of citrus fruits with hints of orange, grapefruit, and lemon zest. This blend is then followed by fruitier notes such as dried apricot, date, and marmalade. Pastry aromas of biscuit, brioche, and crumble mingle with touches of honey, toasted almonds, and hazelnuts. On the palate, it offers complex minerality and a very nice length. This 2015 Vintage pairs perfectly with fresh seafood dishes, such as tempura turbot cheek with a seaweed salad and toasted sesame seeds. It also pairs well with recipes with intense flavors, such as smoked and grilled dishes, citrus fruits and samphire, or international cuisines that emphasize textures. Serving temperature: 10 to 12°C.
