THE BRAND
Method & Madness, literally Method and Madness, is located in a former storage area of the Midleton distillery in Ireland. This micro-distillery serves as a training ground for young, aspiring master distillers. It's a unique way in the industry to learn the ropes alongside established master distillers, but also to conduct multiple experiments during production. This is probably the element of madness to which its name refers. While Midleton, all production combined, produces approximately 65 million liters of pure alcohol per year, Method & Madness, with its 2,500- and 1,500-liter Forsyths stills, only produces 50,000 liters. The micro-distillery conducts trials on malted and unmalted barley, as well as rye. It therefore produces single grain, triple-distilled Irish single pot stills, and, of course, single malt. In addition to these various whiskeys, M&M also produces a gin, featuring citrus and floral notes, composed of 16 botanicals. The bottles are designed by two designers, Matthew Bolger and Emelie Lidström of the M&E studio, he is Irish, she is Swedish.
