THE BRAND
In recent years, Japan has been making a name for itself in spirits such as whisky. The Chugoku Jozo company, established in 1918 near the city of Hiroshima, Japan, was primarily a producer of sake and shochu. In 1990, they decided to add whisky to their product line, thus Togouchi Japanese whisky was born. Each expression of Togouchi Blended Whisky is distinguished by a meticulous blending process, a true marriage between malted and unmalted barley whiskies, aged in first- and second-fill bourbon casks. Through combinations of whiskies of varying ages and precise dosages, the aromas evolve to reveal complex notes: fruity and floral, spicy and pastry, smoky and gourmand. This subtle balance embodies the essence of Japanese expertise. For Togouchi Single Malt lovers, the aromatic profile gains depth thanks to the use of ex-sherry casks, bringing richer and more complex flavors. As for blends, they can undergo unique maturation in surprising barrels, such as those that have contained sake, IPA beer, or even peated whisky, allowing for new dimensions to be added to the aromas. These innovative maturation choices bring incomparable complexity and unique character, making Togouchi an ever-evolving aromatic symphony. The aging process in underground tunnels gives Togouchi whiskies a smooth and subtle flavor, with notes of fruit and vanilla. The Togouchi brand was launched in 1990, but it has gained popularity in recent years, thanks to its unique flavor and elegant packaging. The Togouchi brand offers several expressions, including Togouchi Premium, Togouchi Kiwami, and Togouchi 15 Year Old.
