About the distillery
The Neisson distillery , founded in 1932 in Carbet, Martinique, is an iconic family-run company specializing in AOC agricultural rum. Since its inception, it has embodied the alliance between tradition, innovation, and respect for the terroir. A pioneer in many respects, Neisson was the first distillery on the island to obtain organic certification, demonstrating its commitment to sustainable agriculture. The family estate, covering approximately 40 hectares, exclusively cultivates old varieties of sugarcane, including Cristalline, Rubanée, and Malavoi. These non-hybrid varieties contribute to the authenticity and aromatic richness of Neisson rums. Distillation is carried out on a modernized Savalle column, whose precision allows for the production of rums of great purity, at 73%, before reduction. Neisson also distinguishes itself by the use of its own natural yeasts, selected after years of research. Every detail of fermentation and distillation is mastered to guarantee a unique aromatic profile. Far from industrialization, production remains deliberately limited to approximately 400,000 liters per year, allowing each vintage to benefit from artisanal attention. The Neisson style is recognizable by its finesse, its length in the mouth, and its characteristic floral and vegetal aromas. Whether it is white rums from single plots like Clos Godinot, rums aged in wood, or old vintages, the house is distinguished by great consistency and a strong identity. Each bottle expresses the philosophy of the Neisson family: to make rum a noble product, rooted in the Martinique soil and enhanced by exceptional know-how.
