HÉRITIERS MADKAUD VSOP Castelmore 40% is an old agricultural rum AOC Martinique , aged 4 to 5 years in small oak barrels on the North Atlantic terroir. This vintage pays homage to the Habitation Fond Capot where the House was founded in 1895, and to Lieutenant Jean-Charles de Baas-Castelmore. Rich and balanced, this rum reveals woody notes of mocha, roasted coffee, sweet spices , enhanced by a beautiful vegetal freshness . A soft and structured expression, ideal for lovers of elegant rums steeped in history.
This aged rum is ideally enjoyed as a digestif , or as a Ti Punch Vieux for a more traditional approach. It also goes very well with a chocolate tart or a dried fruit dessert.

The saga of the Héritiers Madkaud began in 1895 in Le Carbet, on the northern Caribbean coast of Martinique. For five generations, this family of Martinican distillers descended from slavery has perpetuated the tradition of pure cane juice agricultural rum. In 2007, Stéphane Madkaud relaunched the brand under the name "Héritiers Madkaud" to finally tell this remarkable story. This rum is produced in partnership with a major North Atlantic producer, according to the strict rules of the AOC Martinique. Without added sugar or artificial flavors, it faithfully reflects the Martinican terroir and family know-how, while paying homage to the Habitation Fond Capot, the founding and historic site of the Madkaud house.
