About the distillery
The history of Héritiers Madkaud dates back to 1895, in Carbet, on the northern Caribbean coast of Martinique. This AOC agricultural rum is the fruit of know-how passed down by five generations of Martinican distillers, from an extraordinary family history. From Félicien Madkaud, freed from slavery, to Stéphane Madkaud today, each generation has contributed to the renown of this historic house. In 2007, the brand was relaunched under the name "Héritiers Madkaud", in partnership with a renowned producer from the North Atlantic and under the expert eye of oenologist Marc Sassier. The rums are made from pure cane juice , with no added sugar or artificial flavors, in accordance with the AOC Martinique appellation . A signature of authenticity and excellence.
