Santa Teresa is a Venezuelan rum with aromas of bitter chocolate, nuts, and butter cookies. It is made using the solera process: barrels of different aged rums are stacked vertically, the oldest (about 35 years old) at the bottom, and as the distiller draws rum from a barrel, he tops it up with younger rum. It has established itself as one of the best South American rums in the world. It received a gold medal at the International Cane Spirits Festival in 2007, a gold medal at the London Spirits Competition 2021. In 2020, it had already received a score of 95 points at the Ultimate Spirits Competition and a gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

THE BRAND
Santa Teresa is a rum produced in a very old Venezuelan family hacienda dating back to 1796. The first owner of the site was Count Travor y Blanco, who received it from the King of Spain himself. He grew coffee, cocoa, and of course, sugar cane there. However, it wasn't until 1830 that a young merchant from Germany bought the farm and began producing rum, his name being Gustav Julius Vollmer. He married a local woman and founded his family and business in the Aragua Valley, where it is still located. Today, Alberto Vollmer Herrera represents the family legacy established over four generations. In 1996, he celebrated the bicentenary of Santa Teresa with his 1796 version, a rum that had undergone initial maturation in bourbon barrels, before being transferred to a solera, producing a very balanced rum with a theoretical maximum age of 35 years.
