Powers: The Authenticity of the Irish Pot Still Since 1791
Founded in 1791 by James Power in Dublin, the John's Lane distillery is one of the oldest in Ireland. In 1886, it became the first to bottle its own whiskey, under the iconic Gold Label , a symbol of quality and authenticity. In 1966, the distillery merged with other leading Irish houses to form the Irish Distillers group, and production was transferred to the modern distillery in Midleton , County Cork, in 1975. Despite this move, Powers retains its unique identity, thanks in part to its Single Pot Still distillation process, which gives it an incomparable aromatic richness. Powers Gold Label is a bold whiskey, dominated by spicy notes of cinnamon , green pepper and nutmeg , balanced by aromas of orchard fruits , vanilla and toasted oak . Its long and warm finish makes it an ideal choice for lovers of traditional Irish whiskey. This whiskey can be enjoyed neat, with a splash of water, or in cocktails, especially in classics like the Old Fashioned or the Whiskey Sour . It embodies the heritage and quality of the Irish Single Pot Still , offering an authentic and refined experience.
