CRAIGELLACHIE WHISKY: A SPEYSIDE LEGEND
Founded in 1891 by Alexander Edward and Peter Mackie, Craigellachie Distillery is located in the rugged hills of Speyside, a region renowned for its iconic distilleries. Peter Mackie, one of the co-founders, is also known for creating the legendary White Horse blend. This distillery, marked by its rich history and commitment to quality, has seen its production evolve over the years. Craigellachie has changed hands several times throughout its history. It was sold to Scottish Malt Distillers, who undertook renovations and installed two new stills. The distillery was then acquired by Bacardi in 1998. Although it was also used to produce a component of the Dewar's blend, it returned to the single malt scene in 2014 with a 13-year-old version, bottled at 46% ABV. Today, Craigellachie prides itself on its diverse portfolio, including iconic releases such as the 17 Year Old, 19 Year Old, and 21 Year Old Cask Strength, as well as special editions such as the 23 Year Old and a limited edition 31 Year Old, bottled at 52.2% ABV. These expressions offer unparalleled complexity and richness that continue to attract the attention of connoisseurs worldwide.
