CRAGGANMORE WHISKEY: THE EXCELLENCE OF SPEYSIDE
Founded in 1869 by John Smith, an experienced distiller and former manager of prestigious distilleries such as Macallan and Glenlivet, Cragganmore is a historic Speyside distillery located on the grounds of Ballindalloch Castle. This single malt is distinguished by its deep and complex aromas, capturing the very essence of quality Scotch whiskies. Cragganmore quickly gained recognition among whisky enthusiasts thanks to its production of high-quality malts. After the distillery closed following John Smith's death, Cragganmore was reopened in 1919 by his wife, Marie Jane Smith. Under her leadership, the distillery underwent major improvements: the introduction of electricity, the installation of new stills, and other technical innovations. Today, Cragganmore is recognized not only for its history but also for its ability to produce smooth yet complex whiskies, which continue to delight connoisseurs worldwide. Cragganmore was chosen to represent the Speyside region in the famous Classic Malts range launched in 1988. A unique feature of the distillery is the use of innovative pot stills with a flat top and T-shaped swan necks. These stills are designed to produce even smoother and more complex malts, giving Cragganmore its distinctive signature.
