McConnell's: the legendary return of Belfast whisky

Founded in 1776 in Belfast by brothers John and James McConnell, McConnell's is one of the oldest Irish whiskey brands. For over 150 years, it has established itself as an essential reference thanks to its distinctive style and international success. In 1899, faced with growing demand, the family opened a new distillery and brewery. But the 20th century was marked by hardships: two devastating fires followed by American Prohibition destroyed the Cromac distillery. In 2020 , the Belfast Distillery Company resurrected this dormant legend and revived McConnell's, spelled without the "e" in the old-fashioned way.
