Angel's Envy is a premium bourbon brand launched in 2011 by Lincoln Henderson , a legendary master distiller in the United States, and his son Wes Henderson . This brand embodies the heritage of American distilling, but also a desire to innovate in the bourbon industry. Lincoln Henderson, with his decades of experience as a master distiller at Brown-Forman (including iconic brands like Woodford Reserve and Jack Daniel's), set out to create a bourbon unlike any other. What sets Angel's Envy apart is its wine barrel aging method, a relatively uncommon technique at the time. The name "Angel's Envy" refers to the "angel's share," the portion of whiskey that evaporates during barrel aging.
