Ninkasi: the art of French artisanal whisky

Ninkasi is one of the flagships of the French craft brewing revival, born in Lyon in 1997 thanks to the vision of Christophe Fargier. Initially famous for its unique brewpub concept combining craft beer and music, the brand has won a loyal and passionate following. Drawing on its brewing expertise, Ninkasi launched into whisky production in 2015, continuing its creative adventure in a century-old dye house in Tarare, built by two Scottish brothers, the McIntosh brothers. Ninkasi whiskies are meticulously crafted in two Charentais copper stills, using high-quality house brew. This artisanal approach guarantees a rich, authentic spirit full of character. Aging is carried out primarily in wine barrels from local terroirs, favoring short supply chains and respect for the environment. Committed to strong values of authenticity, diversity, and conviviality, Ninkasi also uses regional ingredients like sloe, particularly in its gin range, to enhance its spirits.
