Rhum Esprit: the meeting of rum and whisky in a single cask

Tristan Prodhomme, of Scottish, Breton, and Welsh heritage, first saw the idea for Rhum Esprit germinate during a blind tasting in Edinburgh. Surprised by a Guatemalan cask strength rum evoking the profiles of Scottish whiskies, he decided to create a unique range that reconciles these two worlds: single casks revealing both power and finesse. Back in Brittany, he devoted his approach to the extreme selection of pure eaux-de-vie—rums and whiskies—bottled without coloring, non-chill filtered, and most often at their natural cask strength. Each expression is produced from a single cask, at cask strength or reduced to 46%, depending on what best serves the character of the material. Esprit selections draw from exceptional casks and varied origins: Diamond, Caroni, Barbancourt, Worthy Park, Port Mourant, Monymusk, Black Rock, Travellers… This eclectic palette allows for the exploration of rare and profound aromatic profiles, where the identity of each terroir is expressed without artifice. Esprit Rum embodies a connoisseur's approach: a subtle marriage between heritage and audacity, between the precision of whisky and the generosity of rum, designed for amateurs in search of raw and sincere emotions. Each bottle is an invitation to discover the quintessence of a spirit raised in both power and delicacy.
