Born into a family established in the West Indies in 1964, she was introduced to rum by two leading specialists, André Depaz and Paul Hayot. André Depaz, owner of the prestigious Plantation de la Montagne Pelée, encouraged Chantal to create a revolutionary profession in the rum industry: that of "blender and bottler," a concept usually reserved for the world of whisky. This vocation would be a turning point in Chantal Comte's career, as she began blending and bottling exceptional rums under her own name. Chantal Comte's selection of rums is carried out with rare precision, combining respect for tradition with a quest for originality. In 1991, she began marketing rums from the best distilleries in the West Indies, while showcasing the expertise of local distillers. Among her most famous creations are prestigious vintages such as "L'Arbre du Voyageur", "La Tour de l'Or" and "Cuvée Caribaea", which demonstrate her high standards for quality and her passion for the art of rum. Owner of the Domaine du Château de la Tuilerie in Nîmes, where she was a winemaker until 2012, Chantal Comte now devotes herself entirely to her passion for rum. Thanks to her expertise and commitment, she selects the finest reserves of rum from the Antilles, collaborating with renowned distilleries. This ability to select, blend and bottle exceptional rums has allowed Chantal Comte to earn a place among the best rum producers and selectors in the world.
