Glenglassaugh Whisky: The Spirit of the Highlands by the Bay
Located at the end of the beautiful Sandend Bay in the Scottish Highlands , the Glenglassaugh distillery was founded in 1875 by Colonel James Moir. Accompanied by his two nephews, he quickly produced a quality whisky which enjoyed great success, before the distillery was sold to Highland Distillers in 1892. Completely rebuilt in 1960, Glenglassaugh continued production until 1986, before falling into a long silence of more than 20 years. It was not until 2008 that the distillery was revived by a group of passionate investors, then taken over in 2013 by the BenRiach Distillery Company , with the aim of restoring it to its former prestige. Made from the finest Scottish barley and using traditional distillation methods , Glenglassaugh whisky is a true return to its roots. Unlike modern, highly automated practices, production remains artisanal : each step is carried out manually by an experienced and passionate team. Glenglassaugh seduces with its authenticity , its refined aromatic profile and its ability to embody the spirit of the Highlands in every drop. At the crossroads of the sea and the hills, this reborn distillery promises a whisky that is at once elegant, salty and deeply rooted in Scottish tradition .
