The Long Pond 2005 STCE Cambridge is an exceptional cuvée bottled by Velier , from the famous Long Pond distillery located in the parish of Trelawny in Jamaica. This rum has been aged entirely in a tropical climate for 18 years, giving it a remarkable aromatic concentration. The STCE mark is a reference to the former Cambridge estate, historically absorbed by Long Pond. This heavy, highly esterified style (550–700 g/hlap), was once reserved for export for blenders. Thanks to the work of Velier, this type of raw, long-aged rum is now accessible to enlightened connoisseurs. Tropical aging, long fermentation and the double retort still guarantee a rare complexity. This is a precious piece, as much for its power as for its heritage value.

About the distillery
The Long Pond distillery , founded in 1753 in Trelawny, is one of the oldest and most iconic in Jamaica. It embodies the very essence of high ester rum , thanks to long fermentations in wooden vats and the use of a unique reserve of "muck" in the world. Bought over time by various companies, including Seagram in the 1950s, Long Pond has seen its history intertwined with that of legendary brands such as Captain Morgan and Cambridge Estate. Nationalized in the 1980s, it is today co-managed by the National Rums of Jamaica , in partnership with Demerara Distillers (Guyana) and the French house Maison Ferrand . After closing in 2012 for modernization, then a fire in 2018, Long Pond has been reborn without compromising its style. Fermentations in Clarendon vats, distillation on site, tropical aging make it an icon respected by amateurs around the world.
