Masahiro Pure Malt Whisky is a Japanese blended malt aged for over three years in Sherry Butt and Bourbon casks, followed by at least six months of maturation in Jack Daniel's First Fill Bourbon casks. Masahiro Distillery was founded in 1883 by Shobun Higa, whose father, Shozoku Higa, was the master chef of the ancient Ryukyu Kingdom. Through Shozoku Higa's reputation and connections, the distillery was licensed to produce the traditional Okinawan spirit "awamori" and has since established itself as one of the oldest and largest distilleries in Okinawa. Shozoku's passion for cooking is still reflected in Masahiro Distillery's business philosophy of producing only the finest spirits.
