BRUGAL 1888 40% is an old rum from the Dominican Republic, aged using a double aging method. Distilled from molasses, it is first aged for 6 to 8 years in bourbon barrels , then refined in Oloroso Sherry barrels , according to a tradition initiated by Don Andres Brugal , a pioneer of barrel aging on the island. This rum develops a rich aromatic profile combining pepper, coffee, chocolate, blond tobacco and red fruits. On the palate, it reveals notes of cocoa, dried fruits, spices, vanilla and honey , for a long and warm finish. A round, intense and gourmet rum.

Maison Brugal was founded in 1888 by Don Andrés Brugal , a pioneer of barrel-aging rum in the Caribbean. Located in Puerto Plata , in the north of the Dominican Republic, it carefully selects barrels and distills its local molasses in copper columns before a long tropical aging process.
