MHOBA American Oak Aged is an agricultural rum produced entirely by hand from pure cane juice , hand-pressed on the farm. It benefits from a unique double aging process: first in large glass demijohns with American oak shavings burned on site, then in ex-South African whisky casks . This approach gives the rum a rare complexity, combining woody notes, roasted aromas and the natural sweetness of the cane. The result is an intense and perfectly balanced rum, a reflection of modern South African know-how.

About the distillery
Nestled among the hills of the Onderberg district in Mpumalanga , South Africa, the MHOBA distillery is an independent artisanal gem founded by Robert Greaves. Growing its own sugarcane, cut and prepared by hand, MHOBA produces its rums exclusively from pure fresh juice without intermediaries or molasses. Fermentation takes place in unsealed vats, at room temperature, with local yeasts. Distillation is carried out by pot stills designed and built on site. Faithful to a sustainable ethic, the distillery recycles bagasse into compost or uses it as fuel. It produces between 1000 and 4000 liters of juice per day, guaranteeing an agricultural rum with a strong personality. Each stage of production is controlled in-house, from cane to aging. MHOBA embodies an alternative and modern vision of rum, at once authentic, local and bold. A true revolution from the south of the African continent.
