Product History
Old Pulteney Huddart was launched in 2018 as one of four flagship expressions in the new range alongside the 12 Year Old, 15 Year Old and 18 Year Old. Its name pays homage to Huddart Street , where the distillery is located in Wick. Matured initially in American Bourbon casks, this single malt is then finished in peated whisky casks , bringing a delicate smoky note without ever overpowering the maritime character. Designed to deliver a rich and intense experience, Huddart illustrates the sought-after balance of fruity sweetness, creamy vanilla and subtle smokiness, echoing Old Pulteney's coastal tradition.

The brand
Old Pulteney, founded in 1826 by James Henderson, is one of Scotland's northernmost distilleries. Nicknamed "the maritime malt," it takes advantage of its coastal location to create single malts with salty, wild flavors. Owned by Inver House since 1995 and part of the Thai Beverage group, Old Pulteney produces around one million liters of pure spirit per year with just two stills, thus maintaining its artisanal character. The whiskies are aged primarily in American Bourbon casks, stored in cellars ventilated by sea air, giving them the unique, salty style so dear to connoisseurs.
About the distillery
The Old Pulteney Distillery was established in 1826 by James Henderson in the heart of the fishing village of Wick , on the northeast coast of the Highlands. Fed by the pure water of the Ballantruan Burn , it is distinguished by its slow production in two copper stills, preserving the floral and malty aromas. After a closure from 1930 to 1959, it was reborn and acquired by Inver House in 1995, before being integrated into Thai Beverage.
The Old Pulteney warehouses house around 30,000 casks , ventilated by the sea breeze that imbues each whisky with a salty note. While the majority of expressions are aged in American Bourbon casks, some batches are finished in Sherry (oloroso) casks or, like Huddart, peated whisky casks, exploring the aromatic palette while retaining the coastal essence. The distillery produces around one million litres of pure spirit annually, remaining faithful to a craft and transparent approach, inviting visitors to discover each stage of production in a unique maritime setting.
