TASTING NOTE

THE BRAND
The WhistlePig story began in 2007, when Raj Peter Bhakta bought a farm in Shoreham, Vermont, with the idea of creating rye whiskey. The master distiller is Dave Pickerell, who was a master distiller at Maker's Mark for 14 years. Whistle Pig has been distilling at the farm since 2015, starting by bottling excellent rye whiskeys distilled in the United States and Canada. Their most famous expression, the WhistlePig 10 Year Old, even appeared in an episode of Breaking Bad. The unique feature of this distillery is that it produces whiskey not only from its own land, but also ages it in oak barrels grown on the property, also in Vermont. While the brand primarily offers 100% rye versions, with a range of aged versions, such as 10, 12, 14, 15 and 18 years, it also has an 18 year old, made from 79% rye, 15% malted rye and 6% malted barley, a premium version.
