Made exclusively from Grands and Premiers Crus , Rare Champagne 2013 embodies the excellence of the Piper-Heidsieck house. Produced from an elegant blend of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir , this vintage benefits from an extended aging of 10 years on lees , a guarantee of complexity and refinement. The color, an intense crystalline gold , evokes the brilliance of a yellow diamond. The nose opens with great aromatic purity with touches of orange blossom , hyacinth and vanilla , then broadens towards aromas of Williams pear , mandarin , fresh coconut and blackcurrant bud . A saline and smoky minerality, underlined by a hint of licorice , indicates a remarkable depth. On the palate, the texture is silky and evolving, blending fresh pineapple , passion fruit , kiwi and tangy citrus fruits . The finish, long and saline, prolongs the experience on an iodized and elegant note. Rare 2013 is an iconic cuvée, to be served around 10°C , ideal for fine dishes such as scallops , noble shellfish or a citrus ceviche . A unique signature, rare in essence.

Under the influence of ambient temperature in the glass, the bouquet unfolds with infinitely fragrant accords of orange blossom, hyacinth, and white flowers. Then, it opens with notes of vanilla flower, fresh coconut, Williams pear, fresh almond, mandarin orange, and blackcurrant bud. A second nose reveals a refined and saline minerality, creating an iodine-smoky harmony enhanced by a hint of licorice.

About the distillery
Piper-Heidsieck is a champagne house founded by Florens-Louis Heidsieck on July 16, 1785, in Reims. After the founder's death in 1828, his nephew, Christian Heidsieck, joined forces with Henri-Guillaume Piper. In 1838, the house officially took the name Piper-Heidsieck. Renowned for its bold and elegant champagnes, the house has won over enthusiasts worldwide. In 2019, it became the official champagne of the Oscars, a testament to its international renown. The non-vintage Brut cuvée remains the emblematic expression of its expertise.
