Domaine Des Hautes Glaces , founded in 2009, is a unique French distillery located in the heart of the Alps, in the commune of Saint-Jean-d'Hérans at an altitude of 900 meters. This distillery is distinguished by its commitment to organic farming and the production of high-quality, locally grown and crafted whiskies. The estate grows a variety of grains, including barley, traditionally used in Scotch whiskies, and rye, which is more common in North America (Rye Whisky). What truly sets Domaine Des Hautes Glaces apart is its eco-friendly approach. The grains used for whisky production are grown organically directly on the estate. After harvest, these grains are brewed and distilled twice in small pot stills, resulting in whiskies of exceptional finesse. Traditional production methods combined with modern distillation expertise create a perfect balance between character and smoothness. The Estate offers two permanent whiskies: Moissons Single Malt, a refined and fruity whisky, and Moissons Single Rye, a whisky with a spicy and rich profile, which will appeal to whisky lovers with complex and subtle flavors. These two expressions highlight the purity of local ingredients and the excellence of distillation.
