DRUMSHANBO WHISKY: THE SPIRIT OF FOLKLORE AND IRISH EXCELLENCE

Founded in 2014 in Drumshanbo, County Leitrim, south of Lough Allen, Shed Distillery embodies the spirit of adventure and innovation of its founder, PJ Rigney, a passionate traveler and explorer. This unique location is known for its commitment to producing not only gin, but also quality Irish whiskey. The distillery's logo features the Jackalope, a mythological creature from North American folklore, symbolizing the inventive and daring spirit of Drumshanbo. Drumshanbo Distillery made history by becoming the first to produce whiskey in the region in over a century. This Irish whiskey uses locally grown Irish barley and oats to ensure a unique and authentic flavor profile. Distillation is carried out using five stills—three for whiskey and two for gin—as well as vodka columns designed by Holstein in Germany. Master Distiller Brian Taft oversees the maturation of the whiskey in first-fill bourbon casks and Oloroso Sherry casks, creating a whiskey rich in aromas and complexity. Drumshanbo whiskey features notes of fruit, honey, and vanilla, with a smooth and spicy finish. The distillery also offers a range of other spirits, including Sausage Tree vodka and award-winning gins, making Drumshanbo a key player in the Irish spirits scene.
