PUNI: the first Italian single malt from the Alps

Founded in 2010 by Albrecht Ebensperger, PUNI Distillery is the first whisky distillery in Italy. Located in the Vinschgau Valley, in the heart of the Italian Alps, PUNI takes its name from the Puni River that runs through the region. The distillery is distinguished by its modern architecture and commitment to artisanal quality. PUNI crafts its whisky using a unique recipe based on locally grown malted rye , wheat , and barley . This combination produces a distinctive flavor profile, combining sweetness, spice, and complexity. Distillation takes place in Scottish copper stills, and aging takes place in a variety of casks, including bourbon , sherry , Marsala , and casks that previously held Islay peated whisky, providing a unique richness of flavor. The region's unique climatic conditions, with hot summers and cold winters, promote accelerated maturation, giving PUNI whiskies remarkable complexity in a relatively short time. Since 2015, PUNI has offered a range of award-winning whiskies, such as PUNI Gold , PUNI Sole , PUNI Vina and PUNI Alba , each offering a unique taste experience. PUNI embodies the perfect blend of Alpine tradition and Scottish craftsmanship, offering whisky lovers a refined and innovative Italian alternative.
