Rhum Dos Maderas: The Art of Blending and Aging
Dos Maderas , meaning "Two Woods," is a unique rum brand, created by blending molasses rums from two iconic terroirs: Barbados and Guyana. Each rum is carefully selected, offering a subtle blend of lightness and complexity, for which the brand is renowned. The Barbados rum, distilled in a pot still, is characterized by light and refined aromas, while the Guyana rum, distilled in a column still, offers full-bodied and fruity notes. This marriage of two styles of rum creates a unique taste experience, full of contrasts and nuances. After aging for at least 5 years in their countries of origin, Dos Maderas rums are transferred to the bodega's cellars in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. There, they are further aged in 500-liter American oak barrels, previously containing sherry of exceptional quality. This maturation in barrels that previously contained Palo Cortado and Pedro Ximénez sherry adds an extra dimension to the rum's complexity, imparting sweet, woody, and fruity notes. Dos Maderas' unique aging process and careful blending make this rum a true work of liquid art, appreciated by connoisseurs. Thanks to this extended aging method, Dos Maderas is renowned for its smoothness, richness, and depth of flavor.
