BOTRAN RUM: THE EXCELLENCE OF ARTISANAL GUATEMALIS RUM

Botran Rum is a benchmark in premium rum, produced in Guatemala by a family business since 1939. The production of this exceptional rum is distinguished by its unique terroir, located between the volcanic mountains and the tropical coasts of the country. The Botran distillery uses an artisanal process, exploiting virgin sugarcane honey, a pure and concentrated extract of cane juice, to create a rum with deep and original flavors. This production choice highlights a taste of fruits and vegetables, typical of the Guatemalan terroir. The slow five-day fermentation process, accompanied by an internal yeast rise specially developed by the distillery, allows this rum to stand out for its aromatic complexity. The distillation, carried out on a continuous column, produces an impressively powerful distillate, between 80 and 92% alcohol, before being reduced to 60% to be aged in carefully selected oak barrels. Botran rum has also benefited from a controlled designation of origin since 2013, further reinforcing its authenticity and character. This aging in temperate climatic conditions, in the Quetzaltenango mountains at an altitude of 2,300 meters, allows the rum to develop characteristic aromas and a unique smoothness, while offering a richness of flavors that delights connoisseurs.
