BARBANCOURT RUM: HAITIAN EXCELLENCE IN A FAMILY RESERVE

Since its founding in 1862, the Barbancourt distillery has embodied the excellence of Haitian rum. Located on the outskirts of Port-au-Prince, this family business has built an international reputation thanks to decades of expertise and tradition. The Barbancourt family, originally from Bordeaux, brought their distilling expertise to Haiti, initially using a traditional Charente still, before evolving production techniques to offer rum of unparalleled quality. The distillery has spanned several generations, passing from the Barbancourt family to the Gardère family, with Jean Gardère, the visionary CEO, at the helm. Under his leadership, Barbancourt made a name for itself on the international scene, particularly thanks to its 15-year-old rum, considered the family reserve. By the late 1940s, a new distillery was built to meet the growing demand for high-quality rum.
