Edradour Whisky: The Small Distillery with Big Aromas
Located in the heart of Perthshire, a picturesque region in east-central Scotland, Edradour Distillery is known as Scotland's smallest distillery. Founded in 1825, it produces exceptional single malts in a stunning natural setting, offering a unique experience for all whisky lovers. Before the construction of Kilchoman, Edradour held the title of the smallest distillery in the country, with stills of incredibly small capacities: the wash still is 4,200 liters, while the spirit still is no larger than 2,200 liters. Edradour is renowned for its rich, oily single malts, which are aged in a variety of casks, such as those that have held Burgundy, Chardonnay, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Madeira, and Port. These casks contribute to the complexity and richness of its whiskies' flavors, making them sought-after products among connoisseurs. The distillation process in small and carefully maintained stills is another key factor in the exceptional quality of Edradour whiskies.
