Glen Scotia Whiskey: The Authentic Soul of Campbeltown

Founded in 1832 , Glen Scotia is one of three distilleries still active in Campbeltown , once the capital of Scotch whisky with more than 30 distilleries. This legendary region, marked by the ups and downs of the market, today finds in Glen Scotia an ambassador of character. Located to the north of the town, the distillery is steeped in history and legends, including that of the ghost of Duncan Mac Callum, former owner. Glen Scotia is a human-scale distillery producing around 750,000 liters per year. The water used comes from Crosshill Lake, and the lightly peated malted barley is supplied by Greencore Maltings. This subtle touch of peat evokes the typical profiles of Campbeltown, close to its neighbor Springbank. The aging takes place in American oak barrels stored on site in a warehouse of 7,500 barrels. Glen Scotia's eventful history has seen the distillery change hands ten times, go through several closures, and be reborn several times. Since its acquisition by the Loch Lomond Group , the distillery has been given a new lease of life, under the direction of Master Distiller Iain McAlister , who guarantees the quality of the single malts. The current range highlights the diversity of Glen Scotia profiles, from unpeated to heavily peated . Among the emblematic expressions: Glen Scotia 15 Year Old , 18 Year Old , 25 Year Old , Victoriana , Double Cask , as well as Heavily Peated and Single Cask editions. All these references reveal the unique style and heritage of this legendary distillery.
