Rich from Pol Roger is a semi-dry champagne. This blend is composed of equal parts of the three main grape varieties of Champagne: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. Added to this blend is a dosage of 35g per liter, composed of wine and cane sugar, giving the Rich Pol Roger cuvée its heady character. The wines in this cuvée come from at least two different vintages, sometimes up to four, fermenting separately depending on their provenance to preserve the primary aromas. This cuvée ages for a minimum of 3 years in the Pol Roger cellars, the deepest in Épernay. The Rich cuvée is distinguished by a deep and dense golden yellow color, with subtle copper highlights. Its creamy and diffuse effervescence is the result of fine, regular bubbles. On the nose, the Rich is frank and balanced, blending generous notes of dried fruit, heady floral fragrances, and woody nuances. After a few moments, a slight spicy hint is revealed. On the palate, the attack is full and complex, highlighting fruity flavors and spicy notes. The finish is enhanced by delicious hints of blond caramel. This champagne is perfect for pairing not only with desserts, but it will also delight champagne lovers with a sweet palate.

THE BRAND
The history of the Pol Roger Champagne House began in 1849 in Aÿ, when the latter, a native of the region, made his first wine sale at just 18 years old. Despite his young age, family circumstances led him to quickly assume responsibilities. The death of his father, a notary, forced him to take charge of the family finances. In 1851, the family moved to Épernay, where the business still thrives today. In 1855, Pol Roger began producing brut champagne, thus favoring the taste appreciated by the English. Upon his death in 1899, his sons, Georges and Maurice, took over, followed by their own descendants a few years later. Today, most of the major Champagne Houses have been acquired by large groups and have lost their independence, like Maison Salon, which was bought by the Laurent-Perrier group. However, the Pol Roger Champagne House remains an independent family business. This rarity gives an additional charm to the Roger family heritage, in a landscape where few Houses can boast such autonomy and this family tradition preserved to this day.
