Product History
Clairin Communal was born from the desire to bring together in a single vintage the most representative expressions of Haitian clairin. Made by blending Sajous, Vaval, Casimir, and Le Rocher clairins, it offers an ideal gateway to the world of Haitian natural rums. Each component of the blend is produced using artisanal methods, using naturally fermented cane juice and distilled on site using traditional techniques.
This project is supported by Luca Gargano, a key figure in the rum world, who discovered these clairins and helped introduce them to the world. Clairin Communal embodies the spirit of sharing, cooperation, and respect for local identities. Its aromatic signature brings together the diverse profiles of four unique terroirs, while maintaining a consistent, gourmet taste that is accessible and faithful to its origins.

Clairin is much more than just a rum: it's the raw expression of Haitian culture and the ancestral know-how of local distillers. Made from non-hybrid sugarcane grown without chemical additives, Clairin is produced using entirely natural methods: spontaneous fermentation, distillation over open flame or in artisanal columns, and bottling without reduction or filtration.
Each distillery produces a unique clairin, reflecting its terroir, its indigenous yeasts and its distillation style. What makes clairins world-renowned is their wild and unpredictable aromatic profile , often marked by vegetal, spicy, floral or saline notes.
