CLAIRIN HAITI: HAITI CRAFTSMANSHIP IN AN AUTHENTIC RUM

Clairin is much more than just a rum; it is a true reflection of Haitian craftsmanship, steeped in ancestral traditions. Produced in small distilleries scattered throughout Haiti, Clairin is distinguished by its unique production process, which dates back to the early 19th century and has almost disappeared in the rest of the Caribbean. Unlike modern methods, Clairin production relies on pre-organic practices, where sugarcane is grown without pesticides, harvested by hand, and transported on the backs of oxen. This rum is produced from ancient varieties of cane, cultivated in micro-distilleries that supply small local communities. Spontaneous fermentation, which can last several days, and direct heating on stills of Charentaise descent, give Clairin an incomparable richness. Discovered by explorers from Maison Velier, these Haitian micro-distilleries are the guardians of ancestral know-how that few know about. With over 500 producers active on the island, Clairin has become an exceptional rum, prized for its complexity, purity, and raw character. There's no doubt that this rum embodies the authenticity and heritage of the island of Haiti.
