Founded in 1842 in Fort-de-France, La Favorite is one of the last family-owned and independent distilleries in Martinique. Since its takeover by Henri Dormoy in 1905, it has remained faithful to artisanal and sustainable production. The distillery still operates with its famous steam engine , and all stages of production are carried out on site: manual harvesting , long fermentation, distillation on a copper column , aging and bottling. La Favorite produces around 500,000 liters per year and is distinguished by its distinctive, expressive, and often hand-bottled vintages. The care taken with each batch, as well as its commitment to Creole tradition, make La Favorite a benchmark for AOC agricultural rum.
