La Belle Époque is an elegant and extremely rare champagne. This cuvée perfectly represents the excellence of the expertise of Maison Perrier-Jouët and its vineyard. It is a brut champagne distinguished by its richness and liveliness, followed by a bold balance between fruit and spice. La Belle Époque blends primarily Chardonnay with Pinot Noirs, which bring vinosity, and Pinot Meunier, offering beautiful fruit aromas. The year 2014, marked by mild temperatures and frequent rain, saw warm weather set in at the beginning of April. This condition accelerated the vine's growth cycle by ten days. Full flowering began in June, while the summer was punctuated by dry, wet, and cool periods. This year's Chardonnays reveal notes of white flowers and citrus, with a full and tangy palate. The Pinot Noirs, meanwhile, present frank aromas of tangy white fruits and sometimes red fruits, offering a beautiful structure, liveliness, and freshness on the palate. Séverine Frerson, Cellar Master, pairs Perrier-Jouët Belle Époque with white orchids, her favorite flowers. According to her, this cuvée is a perfect blend of delicacy and vitality, with all the discipline of a white orchid. This vintage champagne is distinguished by its pale gold color, clear and luminous, reminiscent of the rising sun. On the nose, it exudes aromas of vine peach and poached pear, as well as linden blossom and hawthorn. This freshness is provided by the great Chardonnay terroirs of the Côte des Blancs. On the palate, the notes of vine peach and poached pear already perceived on the nose are present, mixed with tangy rhubarb. This elegant and very fine champagne presents a fresh attack followed by a rounder palate. The classic mineral presence brings racy notes and a beautiful freshness.

THE BRAND
The prestigious Maison Perrier-Jouët was founded in Épernay, following the marriage of Pierre Nicolas Perrier to Rose Adélaïde Jouët. Celebrating its bicentenary in 2011, it marked two centuries of excellence and innovation in the world of champagne. However, to truly understand the prestige of this brand, we must go back to 2009, more precisely to March 5. This is the date on which a dozen oenological experts gathered in Épernay for an exceptional vertical tasting of 20 vintages. It was on the occasion of the release of the 2002 Belle Époque cuvée. Going back to the oldest bottle dating from 1825, the year of the last coronation of a king in Reims, Charles X, this tasting perfectly illustrates the history and refinement of Perrier-Jouët , which is undeniably a jewel of Champagne heritage. Perrier-Jouët champagnes have had the honor of being served on the tables of illustrious figures such as Queen Victoria and Emperor Napoleon III. It is a brand whose name is inextricably linked to the prosperous Belle Époque era and the innovative Art Nouveau artistic movement. A pivotal moment in its history was the appearance of the Japanese anemone, designed by the renowned master glassmaker Émile Gallée, founder of the École de Nancy. Since then, this delicate flower has become the iconic symbol of the house. It elegantly adorns the prestigious Belle Époque cuvée, the first edition of which was released in 1964. This cuvée remains to this day one of the most exquisite creations of the Champagne region in the 20th century.
