The Extra Brut Premier Cru Blanc de Noirs from Maison Lombard is distinguished by a harmonious blend of gourmet notes and great freshness. ThisBlanc de Noirs champagne is meticulously crafted from a blend of Pinots from Premier Cru terroirs such as Rilly-la-Montagne, Chigny-les-Roses, Ludes, Sermiers, and Cumières. The wines are aged partly in stainless steel vats (60%) and the other part in oak barrels, thus achieving a subtle balance between the tension and freshness of the stainless steel and the complexity brought by the micro-oxygenation of the wood. The cellar master opted to block the malolactic fermentation for 80% of the wines, in order to preserve a great energy. After this step, the Extra Brut Premier Cru Blanc de Noirs ages between 3 and 4 years in the house's cellars in Épernay. With a light dosage of 4 g/l, this champagne retains all of its tension. With remarkable finesse and elegance, this cuvée reveals delicate toasted notes. It is perfect as an aperitif and also pairs well with shellfish or white meats, offering a refined taste experience. Serving temperature 10°C.
"Pinot Noirs grow on loamy soil and a limestone subsoil, which gives this wine chalky notes. Barrel aging is very interesting for these Pinots, which have a lot of finesse: it will allow the very delicate toasted aromas to come out thanks to the micro-oxidation provided by the barrel." A word from the Cellar Master.

THE BRAND
The Lombard champagne house , established west of the Montagne de Reims in Champagne, was founded in 1925. The birth of the house was the fruit of the passion of an agricultural engineer from Montpellier, Robert Andrieu. From 1950 to 1975, his son-in-law Philippe Lombard continued his work by increasing sales volumes. Subsequently, from 1975 to 2017, Thierry Lombard took the reins of the company and oriented its development towards the international market. In 2004, a major turning point marked the history of the house. That year, two crucial decisions were made. First, the company invested in the purchase of vines west of the Montagne de Reims, mainly classified as premier cru. This vineyard, now integrated into the property, extends over 5.5 hectares, thus constituting a precious asset for the house. At the same time, the vineyard management method has also evolved: after initial experiments with grass cover, the house opted for tillage, an approach that reflects its commitment to environmentally friendly viticultural practices. In 2017, the arrival of Thomas Lombard, Thierry's son, marked a new era for the house. The latter is notably distinguished by a fold-out back label rich in practical information. Still belonging to the eponymous family, the house has been run by Thomas Lombard since 2017, under the benevolent tutelage of his father Thierry. Laurent Vaillant, meanwhile, assumes the role of cellar master. The vineyard has been certified organic since 2022, demonstrating the House's commitment to producing quality champagnes while respecting nature.
