AIKAN WHISKY: A PERFECT MARRIAGE BETWEEN WHISKY AND RUM

Whisky Aikan is a French whisky brand created in 2015 by Benoit Albanel, who has successfully combined two worlds: whisky and rum. This innovative brand offers exceptional whiskies, with a unique feature: the maturation of its spirits in two distinct climates. The term Aikan , meaning "marriage" in Arawak, the language of the first inhabitants of Martinique, perfectly illustrates the spirit of fusion between these two distillations and climates. The production process of Whisky Aikan begins with a traditional distillation in France or Scotland, where the whisky is made according to classic techniques. Then, to give it a unique depth and character, it is transferred to the island of Martinique, where it undergoes additional maturation in barrels that have contained rum, in a tropical climate. This warm and humid climate accelerates the maturation of the whisky, giving rise to more complex and intense aromas.
