GlenAllachie Whisky: The Renaissance of a Speyside Single Malt
Founded in 1967 by Mackinlays to meet the growing demand for blended whiskies, particularly in the American market, the GlenAllachie distillery initially distinguished itself as a discreet supplier to the Scotch whisky industry. Its production was then mainly intended for blending, without highlighting its own identity. After being owned by Invergordon Distillers , then Pernod Ricard , GlenAllachie entered a new era in 2017 thanks to the acquisition by Billy Walker , an iconic figure in the whisky world (ex-BenRiach, GlenDronach). His objective: to promote GlenAllachie as an independent and premium single malt brand. Since this takeover, GlenAllachie has distinguished itself with non-chill filtered bottlings, often in sherry casks, virgin oak or wine barrels , revealing all the aromatic richness of this Speyside single malt. The distillery focuses on the art of selection and maturation to deliver smooth, indulgent, and deeply balanced profiles. With a range increasingly appreciated by amateurs and experts, GlenAllachie is today one of Scotland's most promising single malts , combining heritage, artisanal mastery, and modern audacity.
