HSE Rum: Martinique Agricultural Heritage and Excellence
Founded in 1863 under the name Saint-Étienne, the estate joined the Aubery family in 1882 and, after several transitions, became Maison HSE. Now located on the historic site of the Le Simon sugar refinery, HSE cultivates pure cane juice in its fields for its exceptional agricultural rums. Distilled on the Saint-Étienne column, HSE rums follow a complete artisanal method, from the first cane press to on-site reduction. The Hayot family, owners since 1994, has revitalized the distillery and increased production from 150,000 to more than 1.5 million liters per year. The HSE range ranges from white rum to XO, including VSOPs, “Finishes of the World” and Expert Cask vintages. Each expression reveals the richness of the Martinique terroir: lively notes of cane, woody roundness and wonderful aromatic balance. Recognized in national and international competitions, HSE is a must-try for lovers of agricultural rum. Delve into the history of Habitation Saint-Étienne and savor the soul of a rum forged by nearly two centuries of tradition.
