AKASHI WHISKY: THE AUTHENTIC JAPANESE WHISKY FROM THE WHITE OAK DISTILLERY

Akashi Whisky comes from the White Oak Distillery, one of the smallest distilleries in Japan, located in the city of Akashi, Hyogo Prefecture, on the shores of the Seto Inland Sea. This unique distillery is a rare example of Japanese whisky production in the Scottish style. The White Oak Distillery is distinguished by its ability to produce malt whiskies on a small scale, emphasizing quality over quantity. Founded in 1919, the White Oak Distillery was the first in Japan to be licensed to distill whisky. It is at this distillery that Akashi whiskies are made, which are produced using specially selected barley imported from Scotland. The water used in production comes from a local underground spring, the same source used to make their sake, giving Akashi whiskies a unique flavor profile, truly imbued with the essence of the region.
