Palate: Lively and juicy attack, with tropical and caramelized fruits, with notes of vanilla malt and a fine salty peat . Harmonious profile reminiscent of certain rums aged in tropical climates.
Finish: Long and velvety , with woody notes, balanced and imbued with mystery. A poetic evocation of the humid forests of Yakushima.

Perfect for a meditative tasting or a refined association with a fish tartare , an exotic mille-feuille or a fleur de sel dessert. It also accompanies a moment of spring contemplation, in homage to the Japanese tradition of hanami.

MARS Yakushima Japanese Spring is a seasonal edition inspired by the Japanese spring, a symbol of renewal , light and contemplation . Blended from malts from the Komagatake and Tsunuki distilleries, this whisky is then aged on the tropical island of Yakushima , a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its biodiversity and primeval forests. The island's warm and humid climate results in accelerated maturation, with a high angel's share, offering a unique aromatic profile. The spirit of the hanami tradition (cherry blossom viewing) is found in this vintage, which combines floral finesse, maritime energy and woody depth. An immersion in Japanese beauty, spirit version.

About the distillery
Mars Shinshu Distillery , located on the island of Honshu in Japan, was founded by the visionary Kiichiro Iwai . It produces refined whiskies in a unique alpine setting, at an altitude of 800 meters, where cold winters slow maturation. To explore new climatic profiles, Mars opened a second distillery in Tsunuki , in the south of the archipelago, in 2015. It complements this with an aging site on Yakushima Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This triptych allows Mars to play with climatic variations and offer single malts with rich expressions, ranging from alpine fruitiness to tropical depth. The brand is today recognized for its creativity and its respect for Japanese traditions in the development of exceptional whiskies.
